I used to never want to go out for breakfast in Hamburg because cafés only made “German breakfast”… Nothing like Berlin. But the choices are growing by the day… acai bowls, poached eggs, avo toast, vegan brunches
Hearty open faced sandwiches that the owner Katrin perfects to her childhood memories. Kropka is a one time special in Eimsbüttel, rustic-cozy, delicious and casual. Perfect for breakfast, specialty coffee and cake, laptop-working, lunch, an early dinner – or just to chat with friends.
A third wave coffee shop with some of the best breakfasts in Hamburg. All is dainty, delicious and there are vegan and gluten free options as well. They’re famous for their fluffy, soft waffles, my favorite being the lime-mascarpone one. But it’s also the perfect spot for a work date, or leisurely breakfast with avocado quinoa fritters or a lox-red beet toast.
Hamburg used to be scarce on açai bowls… Not anymore! I tested all nine places, all quite different from one another but also very different from what I excepted. . . Here I tried to describe them each by their consistency, taste, toppings, and price. You’ll see which ones are my favorites for which reason.
Luicella’s is the only ice cream shop in Hamburg that has crazy cool varying flavors, among them a large selection of vegan ones and child scoops. And now even porridge breakfasts on Lange Reihe!
